I often feel that winter is quite beautiful. And that its beauty is lost on a great many humans, who wish to categorize & label beauty, as if, in some deluded fashion, to possesss it: strange, indeed.Since we've inexorably & egotistically linked ideas like 'society' & 'civilization' to acts that detatch us from nature- how very European- we have, in fact, grown backwards. Asian cultures embrace nature as an integral part of civilization, and more & more western artists/architects have picked up on this idea. After all, what could be more beautiful than elaborate white & bluish ice tentacles slowly melting off the side of a great rock formation in the Catskills?
