Offensive compliments

Why is it that some women get SOOOO offended when a man compliments her butt or boobs? Are those not attributes to be admired – just like eyes or hair or biceps?

It seems to me that women often dress to accentuate these parts, so why get so pissy when someone notices?
And, unless you're wearing a low-cut skull, a guy just isn't going to see your brain first.

If a man walks up to a chick at a bar and says she has a nice smile, she's probably gonna be flattered. He must be so sensitive to notice such a sweet thing, right?

Probably not sweetheart. He's eying your mouth and thinking about what he'd like to do with it.

So take the honest appreciation of your assets as it's meant to be ... a compliment, not an insult.

Chicks with low-cut skulls have no right to complain if you touch their brains, they're basically asking for it!!

it's great if you hit the right spots they'll smack themselves in the face or speak in tongues.

What's that say about a guy when he compliments you on your eyes?

He's just too terrified to look at anything else.

taking offense to such compliments is not an instinctual thing; it's a socially learned disorder. it's descendent from our less secure, less mature, religiously structured culture, where acknowledgment of overt sexuality is roundly discouraged (as a function of reproductive strategy/competition -- men comfortable with butt complimenting also tend to be confident and attractive and more likely to sleep with your wife and trick you into raising their offspring without you knowing it).

i have no idea if that's actually true.

but anyway i agree with you sten, and i think it's about time that i admit... you have some nice boobs.

I don't mind if men state the obvious, but "you got a big ol' butt on you!" still doesn't rate as a compliment.
